Two new Samsung – Galaxy C5 and C7 – not only the names are … – Spider’s Web

If you are considering a change at magic OS X, keep in mind that this system is not ideal. Especially, if the parallel use of Windows.

On Windows I used since I can remember. It’s him I learned the principles of computer, typing on a keyboard, or eventually use the Internet and a variety of programs. Not counting the Amiga 600, it is PC with Windows allowed me to enter the world of modern technologies. With the Windows version was from 95 to 10.

Relationship with Windows, however, was far from ideal. I do not count how many times over the last 20 years I’ve done system format, because something went wrong. Unfortunately, the combination ctrl + alt + del is entered in the service of Windows.

Less than two months ago for the first time I bought a Mac, specifically the MacBook Air. Since then, the Mac is my primary computer on which I am writing, browse the Internet, talk, answer e-mails, and sometimes also work the image. In parallel with using a PC with Windows 10, which currently only work the photos and mount this video. For the game, unfortunately, I do not have the time.

The parallel use of two different systems is a condition which recommend it to anyone. Initially, I had to get into a lot of habits typical for Mac, and now, when I have them in the blood irritates me to interact with Windows.

Here are the 7 most annoying features of OS X from the point of view of windowsiarza

mac-os-x

not all of the following characteristics are drawbacks OS X per se. Some are thought qualities, which, however, make the problem to handle. at least at the beginning.

such elements include primarily menu bar that is integrated out of the browser window, and the system band. the other is a location of buttons for controlling windows, as they are on the left. Nevertheless, these two elements can be quickly used, and are not irritating, even while parallel to work with Windows.

These are for other, much more annoying features.

1. None of the del (del forward)

the keyboard MacBook will not experience the del known from Windows . Macowy the del is equivalent to the backspace . this means that we do not have a button, which can be reset text standing to the right of the cursor. We need to use the shortcut consisting of two keys, or fn + del . On the other hand, to delete files on a Mac is the abbreviation cmd + Del .

Both of these shortcuts at the beginning were not intuitive to me, but I quickly came to the so-called. muscle memory. Unfortunately, the effects of this I see every time I want to write something on Windows. Instead, use the del , push a combination of ctrl + backspace , which deletes an entire word to the left of the cursor.

2. Maximizing windows

safari

first, the Mac is no such thing as maximizing the number of windows within a single desktop. No. Maximized programs create separate workspaces, between which you can move around as between multiple desktops.

second, the application is maximized on a Mac fills the screen. Literally. the window covers the menu bar and the Dock. Unfortunately it has its drawbacks, the most prosaic fact is that with this work we do not see … eg. the watch system .

3. Ctrl, cmd, alt

MacBook Air 003

We all know that Windows Polish letters shall be holding the right button alt . On a Mac, this is done the same way. The problem is that the right alt on the Mac keyboard is in a different place than the keyboard as windows. The latter is the first button on the right of the space bar, and the Mac is the second button.

I must admit that the location right alta beat me. Permanently I remap the buttons right on your Mac cmd and alt not to change habits built over 20 years using Windows. The more that from time to time it happens and it will happen to me write on Windows.

As for the keyboard, a popular shortcuts to copy and paste can also cause the problem. On Windows is to this combination of ctrl + c and ctrl + v , and Mac cmd + c and cmd + v . Of course, the keys CTRL and cmd lie elsewhere keyboards, so mistakes will be guaranteed.

4. No cutting files

Another difference between Windows and OS X is cut. As for the text, the matter is clear – on Windows, we have ctrl + x , and Mac cmd + x .

Otherwise, it looks a matter of cutting files. For Windows, use the same shortcut that is cut by ctrl + x and paste the ctrl + v . On a Mac, it’s different. The file copy via standard cmd + c , and then we have two options. If you follow the standard cmd + v , the file is copied, not moved. To transfer to a new place is an alternate version of paste, or cmd + alt + v .

In other words, Windows decided to copying / moving a file take the stage for its reproduction and Mac at the stage of paste.

5. How to uninstall programs

mac-os-x-finder

Easy to install applications on the Mac is endearing. the procedure looks exactly like on your smartphone. In most cases, sufficient to move the application icon to the folder “programs” and the installation ends.

when you uninstall theoretically sufficient to move the icon of the “programs” in the trash. in practice, the more extensive programs after the uninstall leave the system garbage, which does not handle without the use of the terminal. As a result, sooner or later you have to invest in the program CleanMyMac or similar solution.

On a Mac, I miss the city uninstall programs, such as the Windows control Panel.

6. Open the application

Windows, the matter is simple. the “enter” key opens the program or folder. On a Mac, the situation is quite different, as the “enter” key is used to … rename a file or folder.

to preview the contents of the files used space (an ingenious solution !), but if we want to open the file, we use the abbreviation cmd + o . Of course, we can also do double click mouse or touchpad.

7. Closing an application

Even stranger looks close open applications. Contrary to appearances, it is not enough to do this, press the red button “x”. The behavior of this button is completely random, and it varies depending on the program. Sometimes the “x” actually closes the program, but the most common application and so it is visible in the Dock. Unfortunately, the “X” often has a habit only put to sleep / hibernate application.

If you really want to completely exit the program, we need to use the shortcut cmd + q . If you want to close only the active document (eg. Word document without closing the entire program), is used to this shortcut cmd + w .

These features more

Seven problems mentioned above is the most annoying little things that make it difficult for alternating work on OS X and Windows. Importantly, if przerzucisz entirely on the Mac, most of these trifles soon cease to bother you.
