Soon the market will debut The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt so CD Projekt decided that this is the perfect moment to take the next step in the development of the platform GOG Galaxy, which previously was in the alpha stage. Now the platform has gained the status of beta, which at the same time means making available to all concerned, because earlier tests were available only to a few. This is only the beginning of market presence, but it’s possible that in the future the service will gain wide popularity.
What exactly is the GOG Galaxy? The new platform will be the equivalent of Steam and facilitate the use of the browser version of the store GOG.com. The whole course is optional and no one has the intention to force the players client installation. However, if you choose to do so, gain the ability to more easily install games, direct downloading them to a hard, simple management, and updating owned titles. Importantly, the platform offers the rollback feature, which allows you to restore a previous version of the game after installing the patch or patch, which did not meet the player’s expectations.
It should also be noted that the store GOG.com has a very liberal approach to clients and prides itself on the fact that games purchased on this platform will become the property of the person who paid for them, and they are not its only borrowed, as is the case with Steam. Using the new platform can easily download the installation files without DRM. There were also opportunities to earn achievements, track time spent with the production concerned, connect and converse with friends or easy a common defense game. It is interesting that in some countries can share a game with people who have installed your copy through Steam. It should be noted, however, that so far not all features are already available.
The desire to take part in the tests can be reported on the official website of the platform.
