Waterproof Galaxy S7 active is not waterproof – CHIP

Samsung Galaxy S7 active is able to withstand a 150-centimeter immersion in water for 30 minutes, according to what declared by the manufacturer. Meanwhile, according to a report published by Consumer Review, users of this phone can meet an unpleasant surprise.

After 30 minutes of immersion UUT indeed still work, but both the inside of the lens fall into water droplets, and the display, which stopped react to touch and display the image.

Samsung defends itself by claiming that the UUT was probably faulty. Consumer Reports retorts that the test was repeated with the second copy and achieved the same results.

Interestingly, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, which also have standard IP68, but do not have a reinforced structure as active, test passed with flying colors .
