Camera Samsung Galaxy S6 has just passed one of the toughest tests imaginable: shooting during a week’s holiday. I made a lot of pictures and smartphone thoroughly knew his strengths and weaknesses. See how the Samsung Galaxy S6 camera coped in real life.

It’s a collection of important observations, which I carried after a week of using the Samsung Galaxy S6 in the toughest possible conditions, that is, in conditions … real life. Let’s start from the beginning
Nothing irritates as much as the free camera, especially on vacation. Therefore, I appreciate that the Samsung Galaxy S6 model finally set to improve speed. Camera application can enable double pressing the “home”, even from the lock screen (if the screen does not tie up some type of collateral, for example. PIN or fingerprint). The application will start right away, as if the whole time she was held in RAM. Moreover, this speed is maintained even in the completely clogged phone. This is a huge advantage.

Autofocus is fast and efficient, unless …
At first, it seems that the autofocus Galaxy S6 is incredibly precise and to top fast. And indeed, most of the time it is. However, there are situations where the camera simply does not get the focus. Everything seems to be fine, and after seeing the pictures on the screen it is blurred. Such a case happens approx. 3 times for every 100 images, so it is not particularly difficult.
Face Detection works too well. 
But there is one situation in which the AF system is lost completely. This is something to shoot from close range just after the shooting distant plans. This feature is particularly evident at a time when we want to do with a close up photo of a document. The camera can then think even 10 seconds, and still can refuse to cooperate. At this ailment helps just reboot the camera application.
Extras
When it comes to supplements, one of the most useful is the HDR mode. It is available in the top menu in the camera application, next to the icons flash, timer, and a menu effects (by the way, quite average). HDR can be permanently switched on, can run automatically, and you can also turn it off completely. Even when it is constantly turned on, the effect is really great. The camera pulls shadows and turns up the light colors, but the key word is “slightly”. The effect is pushy, and the picture looks just fine. Only juxtaposition of a photograph of him without HDR suggests that something in the photo was tinkering. However, even then the picture does not look artificial or candy.
The second addition is successful panorama mode, which in most cases is doing unexpectedly well. The camera deftly combines successive frames, and the great advantage is that the performance of the panorama does not have to specifically focus. You can move the camera really fast, and the application and so can cope.
When it comes to video, it is also very good. The camera records video at a resolution of UHD (4K) at 30 frames / sec, FHD (1080p) at 60 or 30 frames / s and HD (720p) at 120 frames / sec. If you’re recording in 1080 / 30p (or lower) the image is stabilized, we have access to AF tracking, HDR video effects and take pictures while recording a movie. Unfortunately, a little disappointed by the action of stabilization, because the image clearly flying.
Image Quality – chapeau bas
To this day, I am surprised at the quality of pictures that come with the Samsung Galaxy S6. It is worth mentioning that all the pictures in the text were made during the leave, and so without any postural to. All done in automatic mode, most with HDR enabled. The only variable that I used was a delicate exposure compensation in some of the photos the night. When I saw that the camera tries too hard brighten the brightness slider moved gently down.
The quality of images is a knock and I did them myself, rather not believed to have come from your smartphone. The more that on paper the Samsung Galaxy S6 does not stand out with anything special. Oh, not too big matryczka 1 / 2.6 inches with a resolution of 16 million pixels. The advantage is, however, the brightness of the lens. Light intensity in this case is f / 1.9, which puts the Samsung Galaxy S6 at the forefront of photographic smartphones. Samsung does not go, however, before a series of tight, because a lot of competitors is f / 2.0.
Meanwhile, the photo quality to defend themselves in virtually any environment. And how! During the trip after the first frames speechless with shock, but all the time I had in my head lit the red light under the title Super AMOLED. For saturated and insanely sharp screen images of Samsung Galaxy S6 presented themselves phenomenally, but I was afraid that the spell will be broken when you watch them on your computer screen. Fortunately, fears were not confirmed. The photos on the large screen calibrated look as well.
I like most of all focus and image detail. In this respect, really hard to fault. It was only zoom in up to a scale of 1: 1 reveals smartfonowy character, but by day even such an increase is acceptable. The room is a little weaker, but even then the pictures look great stretched to full HD on both the 24-inch monitor as well as on 42-inch TV. The quality is so good that there is still a wide margin for framing with no apparent loss of quality. Do you need more?
As far as noise is equally well. You can see it only on uniform surfaces during night shots. Unfortunately, it disappears detail, but again – even a Full HD screen quality remains good.
The camera has however problems with work under harsh sunlight. Often the pictures appear colored fringes, which in no way can be removed. The second complaint is also true that when there are clouds in the sky, some of them will be burned. This unfortunately limitation resulting from a small sensor, but is not particularly onerous. A photograph of an outsider probably would not notice.
Two deadly sins: battery and memory
One major drawback of the Samsung Galaxy S6 turned out to be the battery. In terms of the standard began exploring energy shortage already approx. Hours 20. smartphone throughout the day had turned on the GPS signal, occasionally connect to a Wi-Fi network and generally perform approx. 100 photos and several short videos a day. As you can see, it is not a tragic outcome, but still not enough batteries for an entire active day.
The second problem is the internal memory, which can not be extended. Built-in 32 GB is plenty of room for photos and videos, but only if we do not have large applications and games. Otherwise it gets tight. Every photographer is accustomed to removable memory cards, so the Samsung Galaxy S6 at some point may be a problem.

Camera Samsung Galaxy S6 totally surprised me. After my test photo smartphones expected a great performance, but practical effects made collect jaw off the floor. Galaxy S6 is the first smartphone that allows you to shoot without worrying about image quality. Without combining, selecting parameters and fighting with noise and lack of light. I realized that if this technology starts to run down to cheaper smartphones, days dedicated cameras will be counted. Personally, I will never give up a dedicated camera equipped with a bright, prime lens.
