The calculation was made by analyst firm IHS , specialized in breaking into prime factors of electronic equipment. Each of the components that make up the Samsung Galaxy S7 was valued at market value. After summing up of all amounts received a so-called BOM (Bill of Materials) – amount you must pay for components manufacturer.
In the case of smartphone Galaxy S7 manufacturing cost of the device was estimated at $ 255 apiece – that is, the average dollar exchange rate of 15 March 2016, 983 gold. In total, this is already included the cost of labor for installation, set for 20 dollars.
Looking at this amount should be aware of two important issues – firstly, we are dealing with an approximate value, as the IHS can only guess at the details of trade agreements between the Samsung and suppliers, it is not known as well as the end of the case as regards the cost of production of components by the same manufacturer. The differences, however, can be up to a few-dozen percent.
Calculated BOM does not include the cost of research, design, logistics and marketing per one produced smartphone. Even if the price of materials needed to produce one smartphone Samsung Galaxy S7 is about $ 1000, additional expenses producer associated with the formation of phones significantly increase this amount.
An analysis of the IHS suggests that the most expensive component used in the Galaxy S7 chipset Snapdragon 820, priced at $ 62 apiece. Camera Dual Pixel valued at $ 14.
Samsung Galaxy S7 was introduced into the official sales in Poland 11 March 2016 year. The basic version, equipped with 32 GB of memory for the files was estimated at 3199 respectively.
