A few weeks ago there was a great premiere two newest smartphone from Samsung – this year the company decided to surprise even the best connoisseurs of the brand, because they do not wait to larger fairs (in concept – IFA) and showed the device at a separate conference in New York. Even earlier held closed screenings for the media, which confirmed all the rumors about the nature of the release. See PurePC.pl had a chance to see the Galaxy Note and Galaxy 5 S6 Edge + in London, and now we present you a short publication (Mini Review) devoted to the latter smartphone. As you well know, Note 5 will not yet for sale in the Old Continent, so overgrown device with a curved display (S6 Edge +) seems to be much more interesting proposition for customers living in Poland. Watching the latest smartphones on the closed the show we were a little shocked – confirmed then all predictions as to the appearance of new devices, namely information speak of “download” design presented earlier models of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge . It would seem that the S6 Edge with a curved display will not be able to compete with cheaper brother (S6 flat) and is only intended for demanding curiosity, like Note Edge (about him no one remembers). Samsung does not like to present official statistics showing the breakdown of sales of the Galaxy series, so all we have to believe that interest models Edge is really big.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + will benefit from the popularity of its smaller brother?
Our beliefs are supported by the facts – if no one be interested to Galaxy S6 Edge, then the Samsung not would introduce to the market the Galaxy S6 Edge +, which is almost a clone of the previous model. Many people probably at this point asks: what are the differences between the model Edge and Edge +? The answer is very simple, because three points are due to the technical specifications, and the fourth of the applied software:
- The larger display (5.7 inches instead of 5.1 inches)
- More RAM (4GB instead of 3GB)
- The larger battery (3000 mAh instead 2600 mAh)
- Improvements in the system concerning the function of the folded screen
First difference needless to further explain – Samsung has decided to increase the display from 5.1 inches to 5.7 inches in order to attack the segment phabletów and zaskarbienia his feelings customers who series Note. Galaxy S6 Edge for many people seemed to be too small, and the model Plus will fill the empty segment. To add another 1 GB of memory is not fully understood, although it was probably here for the equalization of the Galaxy Note 5. Samsung allows us now pinning shortcuts to applications on the bent portion of the display (Apps edge), which is a very useful feature. Now let’s look at the technical specifications:
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + has the aforementioned 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a slightly curved edges – screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels offers density at 518 PPI. Smartphones is powered by a 14-nanometer Exynos 7420 unit equipped with eight cores running at 2.1 GHz and 1.5 GHz. Add to this the 4GB of RAM and a 32 GB or 64 GB of internal memory built-in Universal Flash Storage 2.0 (UFS 2.0). As for the camera, it is at the back get a 16-megapixel sensor with 2160p video recording and optics f / 1.9, while the front of guests 5-megapixel camera capable of recording video in 1440p resolution. The device accurately measures 154.4 x 75.8 x 6.9 millimeters and weighs 153 grams. Each copy of the Galaxy S6 Edge + features LTE connectivity module category 9, Bluetooth 4.2 and MIMO 2×2. Smartphone factory received the Android operating system 5.1.1 Lollipop with TouchWiz UX overlay. The whole thing is powered by a battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh.
If you ever trzymaliście Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge in his hand, a description of the appearance of the Plus model is not for anything you needed. The manufacturer has not decided on any changes in the design of the device – front is dominated by a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, which has a gently curved edges. Why write “gently”? We tested the earlier model Note Edge offers a bit more aggressive line. At the top of the front panel has a standard sensors, camera lens, speaker and logos longitudinal Samsung. Down is occupied by the house with built-in fingerprint reader and two touch-sensitive buttons for undo and calling functions related to multi-threading. Galaxy S6 Edge + can be too big for many users accustomed to smartphones with screens around 5 inches. Discomfort can be increased by virtual reduction of the interface … just what we then so much the phone?
If the Galaxy S6 Edge was for you too small, then the Plus model will probably be perfect.
The rear panel has a glass-covered course – this is almost perfect copy of the model Galaxy S6 Edge. We note protruding hearing, heart rate monitor, LED flash and the manufacturer’s logo. Many people will interfere with the smooth surface, but before buying such an expensive device definitely answer the question if the smartphone falls to us to taste their characteristics, appearance, comfort of use. The side edges with a height of a few millimeters provide a pretty good grip – there is no mention of discomfort associated with curved display. On the right side we find a lone power button, while the left two volume buttons. The lower edge is equipped with a headphone jack 3.5 mm, hole for a speaker, and a micro USB port. On the opposite side we find nanosim card slot and a hole for the microphone.
