Samsung Galaxy Core Plus – construction and quality of workmanship

Samsung Galaxy Core Plus, or MS-G350, a refreshed version of the well-known

Samsung for years that aims to standardize the design of their smartphones and Galaxy Core Plus is this another example. If you place it next to other budget phones the company is ignoring the size of the display, it will be from them virtually indistinguishable.

The casing of heavily rounded edges made of the well-known to us polycarbonate, which provides hardware pretty decent strength. As usual edge of the device is surrounded by a plastic frame imitating metal, which is to give it a bit of elegance.

Rear Panel Galaxy Core Plus is unfortunately true shiny as it looks nice, but does not improve grip and can make the phone slips us out of hand. The back cover is of course removable and traditionally adorned in her camera lens and LED Illuminates.

Front casing covered with glass to protect the screen and the arrangement of buttons and inputs has become perhaps the hallmark of the company as it is the same as in the previous models. On the left side are the volume buttons on the right hand push button switch equipment. At the bottom is the USB connector, and the headphone jack at the top. Under the display as usual the Home button and touch navigation buttons.

Galaxy Core Plus is quite a device relatively small size (129.7 x 66 x 9.5 mm) and fits easily in your hand. It is however quite thick (9.4 mm), and to other models stand out a little mass of 132 grams.

Screen Galaxy Core Plus

Galaxy Core Pluis has a slightly larger display the size of the other budget models of smartphones from Samsung, because instead of the typical 4-inch, this time we have a 4.3-inch TFT LCD panel. Unfortunately, no diagonal growth led to increasing resolution, so we still have the typical 480 x 800 pixels, and the density is the only 217 PPI. This performance significantly weaker than previous models, which slightly affects the quality of the projected image.

The viewing angles are also very small and you only need to slightly tilt the screen to image quality noticeably decreased. Considering the price of this smartphone is a big drawback.

No light sensor automatic screen brightness setting can be acute if we will often use a smartphone outside of buildings. Naturally, it can be adjusted manually, is because of a special slider that appears in the notification bar, but it is a bit cumbersome.

Functionality

After removing the Galaxy Core Plus out of the box, we can use Android 4.2.2. Jelly Bean, equipped with a known overlay TuchWiz – in this case it is Nature UX 2.0, slightly modernized version of the familiar interface that has been refreshed in terms of appearance.

It’s not a particularly popular piece of equipment Samsung smartphones, however, has some interesting features, which in some circumstances may be useful. One of them is, for example. Mode driver who reads aloud to us all received messages, which helps us to focus on the road. There are also other useful applications, such as Google Maps cooperating with a GPS, Gmail, YouTube, Picasa, etc..

When it comes to connectivity, the 4G LTE of course, this model does not uświadczymy, like the NFC and we must be content with Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth and 3G HSPA + for downloading data at a maximum speed of 21 Mpix. The manufacturer has enabled the transformation of the smartphone into a mobile hotspot, and also offered us two browsers: own and Chrome.

Galaxy Core Plus has naturally two cameras. The rear has a matrix 5 Mpix which corresponds to a resolution of 2592 х 1944 pixels, and its facilities will find only autofocus and LED Illuminates pictures. Front camera for video calls offers a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The manufacturer took care while having the appropriate software, which offers a variety of exposure modes and the ability to manually set each option.

Performance

The efficiency of this model certainly will not please everyone. Samsung has installed in it just because Broadcom BCM21664 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, supported by the layout VideoCore IV of opportunities close to the ARM Mali-400. RAM is only 768 MB which can be a surprise, because the original Galaxy Core had 1 GB. In contrast to the data memory installed 4 GB, with half a standard occupied by the system and applications, so you might want to use the microSD card slot and extend it up to 64 GB.

Battery

The advantage of Galaxy Core Plus is the battery. Samsung decided on a battery with a capacity of 1800 mAh, which provides about 8 hours of uninterrupted video playback and 40 hours of music. Talking through the 3G network you can for 9 hours, in standby mode, the unit will operate for 320 hours.

Price and cost Smasunga Galaxy Core Plus

Samsung Galaxy Core Plus costs about 600 PLN, which despite appearances is not a bad price. The original Galaxy Core costs very similar, and at the same time has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of memory in use, and the rest of the parameters are very similar. The disadvantage is undoubtedly a poor quality display, and a very high efficiency. It seems that the Galaxy Core Plus compared to the original model is a step back and out of a slightly larger screen and a slightly different interface, offers nothing that would interest us.
