Build quality
Samsung Galaxy S5 its structure resembles the earlier devices of this series. Dominated by rounded shapes, curves and plastic. The plastic material allows you to maintain a low weight of the unit, at the expense of rigidity and robustness of the housing. In this model, the first time used the back door, the surface texture resembles your skin. Although the Galaxy S5 is a phone larger than its predecessors, it is not a big difference, and it is still less than the 5-inch Xperia Z1 or 5.2-inch Xperia Z2, although it is less compact than the 5.2-inch LG G2.
As for the physical buttons on the left edge of the cover is used to change the volume, and on the right – the power key. If someone got used to the fact that the left of the mechanical longitudinal home button is used to develop the context menu, it now locks it there to cause the screen to switch between active applications. It turns out, however, that if you hold it longer, it works on “the old way”, that provides access to settings and options. The idea is good, but some tools are displayed as if the phone was not to develop a mechanical button context menu, while others assume its presence, and it introduces a bit of confusion.
Use plastic may reject some of the devices of the Korean company, but great fit elements and attention to detail help make up for some deficiencies in the materials, and the whole very comfortable to operate. It is worth noting also waterproof and resistant to dust, what more can be read here.
Screen
This smartphone has a display with a diagonal of 5.1 inches, which is about 0.2 inches long from Screen predecessor. It is made in technology Super AMOLED, which is characteristic of most models of Samsung phones and to ensure a perfect reproduction of black and very intense colors. Digitizer can be easily operated when the hands are hidden in the gloves. When it comes to putting fact, it’s Samsung’s products tend to touch up the color (more vivid than real), but the image quality on the screen SAMOLED protium is phenomenal. If you do not mind someone said “factory Photoshop”, it certainly screen Galaxy S5 should be considered one of its greatest advantages.
Camera and Multimedia
Screen resolution camera of Samsung Galaxy S5 is 16 megapixels. Webcam also keeps pioziom – HDR mode, excellent autofocus, recording at 60 frames per second and, importantly, recording 4K resolution. It consumes memory and battery in a crazy pace, but is doing better than in the Xperia Z2, where the optic regularly overheats.

Samsung is the last major manufacturer who uses replaceable batteries still in their “flagship” smartphones. 2800 mAh Galaxy S5 allows for a little more than 10 hours surfing the Web using Wi-Fi and 63 hours of listening. These results, though definitely not the best on the market, are excellent. Furthermore, the new 2-amp charger is capable to fill the cell from zero to one hundred percent in less than two hours. So connecting the device to power on a quarter allows little intense internet browsing for about an hour, to carry out a 3-hour phone call or nearly 8 hours of listening to music when the function sync mail in the background. And if someone were not enough efficiency, the manufacturer has implemented a special mode where you can only run the most basic tools. Approximately 10% of the battery allows standby time per day.
Productivity and Software
smooth operation of the Samsung Galaxy S5 corresponds to the quad-core Snapdragon 801, clocked at 2.5 GHz. His most important competitors, namely the Xperia Z2 and HTC One (2014), have the same processor but clocked at 2.3 GHz. In addition, it comes with 2 GB of RAM. I do not mind it dramatically in everyday use, but it can irritate the so-expensive hardware.
Price and cost
Samsung Galaxy S5 is simply great, the top smartphone that you can recommend one condition – the buyer must have a sufficiently thick wallet. The cheapest start at over 2100 zł. When it comes to devices from Samsung, it’s still there is nothing better on the market, but there are already about exclusive version of Galaxy F. Faster processor, Android 4.4 KitKat and possibly metal casing is really serious advantages over the base model, and although the price is likely to be even higher is someone who seems more than 2000 zł for smartphone probably can dozbierać hundred extra at the top-ranked version. There are leaks of similar conceptually Galaxy S Prime, but some sources say that it will not be officially available in the European markets.
And what about the competition? The immediate are certainly Sony Xperia Z2, HTC One M8 and LG G3. Of course, it would be nice to have it all, and also some image stabilization when taking pictures and shooting movies, operation time at the Xperia Z2 and a few other odds and ends, but no very serious (objectively speaking) defects are a significant advantage of the Galaxy S5.
