Asian markets are saturated or nostalgia, or the people there actually hands did not grow enough to adapt to the increasing size of modern flagowców. But the fact remains that flip phones are experiencing a renaissance and there just lived to see her – so far – the strongest representative.
Samsung not so long ago unveiled a smartphone called SM-G9198, which I wrote that I would see him loved in his own pocket. While writing that article I also tried to answer the question why mobile phones with flip have really a lot of sense nowadays, especially against not quite handy devices of the highest quality.
As you can see the need for “flagship clamshell”, especially the Chinese market is very visible, because that’s where it goes on sale the latest smartphone Samsung W2016.
Which is no less, no more, and Samsung Galaxy S6 … flip.
The first thing the same is inside the smartphone. We are dealing with the same Exynos 7420 ośmiordzeniowym that drives this year’s Galaxy S6, 3 GB of RAM and up to 64GB of built-in memory. Also, cameras are still the same modules, which won applause reviewers and users around the world, with a resolution of 16 MP rear and a 5 MP front.
But that similarities do not end there – the battery, although smaller ( 2000 mAh), like his older brothers is the quick and wireless charging, and taking into account the size and resolution displays such a link should be more than sufficient to propel the W2016 from morning to evening.
The displays are two, with a resolution of 1280 x 768 and have a diagonal of 3.9 “each, giving a pixel density of approx. 383 PPI – with the diagonal perfectly adequate. On board W2016 find Android 5.1.1 with TouchWiz overlay.

The combination of a beautiful casing made of high quality materials with powerful specifications give a result, that is hard to fault. Well, maybe a little bit of inconsistency in the naming of the models, because do not quite understand why this smartphone does not wear proudly the name for example. “Galaxy S6 Flip,” which clearly would underline his DNA. Perhaps this is due to the fact that it temporarily is a model exclusively for the network of China Mobile.
Fortunately (or unfortunately) I can just about pogdybać, because there’s no sign that the Samsung W2016 ever left the borders of China – or, at most going to other Asian countries.
We, in Europe, we will still have to adapt our habits to large screen diagonals, and those who, however, would like to return model with a flap, will remain a compromise in the form of very low specifications of these devices available on the Old Continent.
