After yesterday’s presentation of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 raised the alarm. First of all, it is too expensive (it said about the amount of approx. 4 thousand. Gold!) And that it practically does not differ from the one of the year’s flagowców, Galaxy S7 edge. Are you sure?
It looks similar, but not identical
Glass front and rear. Between the sleek, silver frame. Physical Home button below the screen and slightly protruding camera lens on the back. It would seem, therefore, could it took Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, slightly increased and added stylus. But it was only on closer contact, it turns out that the housing of both models is somewhat differently shaped, although the differences for many may be quite noticeable.
The Galaxy Note 7 is symmetrical. Sandwich is symmetrical, which means that the front and back have the same amount of glass, and an aluminum frame extends precisely in the middle of the edge of the housing. Frame itself, in turn, it is slightly thinner than the Galaxy S7 edge.
Sam smartphone looks good and provides a level of comfort using it. At least that got the impression after a short time – both at a pre-meeting with the Galaxy Note 7, and yesterday, after the official presentation. But more on this subject I can say only after several weeks of testing.
Of course, both models meet the IP68 standard.

as you can see, therefore, at the start we get more internal memory – 64GB, larger screen (a 0.2 “can make a difference), USB type C instead of microUSB, slightly smaller battery, and the same dimensions Note 7 are larger, like weight.
But it does not end the differences. Especially noteworthy are:
- Gorilla Glass 5 on both the front and rear, in Note 7,
- redesigned interface (although it happened in this case, it seems to me that Galaxy S7 edge receive similar in the relevant updates – remember, however, that this is only my guess)
- video recording with HDR,
- scan the iris of the eye,
- no and finally the S Pen, which left at the end, and is definitely a “killer feature” series Galaxy Note. Who does not need a stylus, you never understand the idea of buying products from the line of Galaxy Note. These devices were created with users in mind first of all the business, for which S Pen turns out to be a very useful tool. Do not write therefore ignorantly, that Note 7 sucks, because the stylus is useless to you. Most probably do not find applications for it.
a large difference will make the price
3599 gold – but at the moment the Polish premiere had to pay for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (32GB). it seems that the Galaxy Note 7 will be even more expensive. it is said the amount of 3999 dollars. do not take this, but as a certainty – the final price is in fact communicated only at the start presale, or two weeks (August 19).
Four thousand is a lot. But see that the terms of the premiere price Galaxy S7 edge, this amount appears to be … reasonable. Why? Well, because usually by another 32GB of memory in smartphones Samsung must pay the approx. 400-500 zlotys. And here we get not only more memory but also stylus, scan the iris of the eye and the other things I mentioned above.
I do not defend Samsung and not explain the high price of Galaxy Note 7, which will surely be beyond the reach of many of us. But let’s face it – if you can afford on a smartphone for $ 3.5 thousand, these half thousand will not make much difference to him.
Whatever the case, flagowców prices are starting to scare me . Despite this, it’s really cool equipment. But, like, it’s just the hardware. Expensive equipment.
