Why Samsung Galaxy Alpha is not made entirely of … – TELEPOLIS.PL

Samsung claims that the Galaxy Alpha forced them to a new approach to the topic of creating housing smartphone.

Partially metal housing, the recent big news in the ranks of Samsung smartphones. Until now, users with each model were given newer variations on the plastic casing, and each new representative of the Galaxy S series as he points out the major drawback of the materials from which it was made. Alpha Galaxy had completely changed the approach Samsung to create housing. Samsung as the three main elements of constructions Alpha lists – metal frame, curved horns and finish.

The idea for the cover was inspired by Alpha Galaxy Samsung SGH-P310. Model that did not live to global success has been recognized for a small and thin casing that fits comfortably in your hand. After brainstorming designers decided that this is the optimal direction for housing the new smartphone, which decided to join with polished metal, with the aim to achieve a delicate and shiny appearance.

An unusual feature of the construction Alpha Galaxy are the horns of the housing. They are considered to be the weakest element of design of smartphones and that they usually assume the power hitting during the fall. In addition, this is the last part of the casing, the user grasps at a time when the smartphone slipping from his grasp. Therefore corners on the chassis Galaxy Aplha are curved and strongly convex, as illustrated in the figure below.

In addition, falls are intended to prevent materials that are designed to Lasha grip and prevent slipping out of your hand housing. This is one of the reasons for which the back cover has been made of metal. As a second reason … Samsung gives greater pleasure in holding the cover, which does not get cold when the temperature drops. Theoretically, this is an explanation, but only contact with the first Alpha users verify whether such treatment was a good move.
