A few weeks ago we met the next flagship smartphone Samsung and Sony – Galaxy S5 models and Z2 Xperia . A little late here, HTC, which “did not achieve” the fair MWC in Barcelona announcing the launch of the model One (m8) on March 25. And so it happened, so we can compare the capabilities of these three devices.
Displaycompared between smartphones have a small difference in the size of the display. HTC One (M8) has the smallest screen (5 inches), has a slightly larger Galaxy S5 (5.1 inches), while the largest offers Xperia Z2 (5.2 inches). Regarding the image resolution, the trio offers the ability to display Full HD movies. Taking this into account, and diagonal size turns out to be the same, the latest gadget Taiwanese company can boast the highest density of pixels per inch (ppi 441). These differences, however, are so small that rather we should be able to perceive them.

Xperia Z2 offers a screen Triluminous “driven” engine X-Reality and assisted Live Colour LED technology aimed to provide better color depth. New HTC One It also uses Super LCD panel 3 (the same was in One), on the bottom that are placed before the screen navigation buttons.
DesignSamsung Galaxy S5 still has a plastic housing with the difference that it is perforated, making it easy to hold and give a sense that we are actually dealing with a Class Premium. A novelty is the incorporation in the Home button fingerprint scanner and adding the back of the heart rate sensor.
Smartphone Sony Xperia Z2 not much different from Z1, from which, through greater screen is slightly larger .In HTC One (M8) unibody used, but instead of 70%, it was developed in 90% of aluminum. In this case it is not so, as in the case of the Galaxy S5, pretending that we are dealing with a Class Premium.

The most slender of the three is discussed smartphone Galaxy S5 , whose thickness is 8, 1 mm. Slightly thicker Z2 Xperia (8.2 mm), while the HTC One (M8) is significantly lower than the results (9.4 mm). The situation is identical in terms of the amount of equipment, and have a width of another situation: M8 is narrowest, ahead S5 and Z2. “The weight” wins S5, while the new HTC came in second place.
The new HTC smartphone should be less interested in active people, because unlike the competition is neither dust-proof or waterproof. It is also worth noting that the gadget Sony is doing better with these challenges than the Korean competitor. Each of these smartphones is offered in several colors: HTC One (M8) : gray, silver, gold
Galaxy S5: black, white, gold, blue
Xperia Z2: black, white, purple
processor and memory
Samsung Galaxy S5 has a quad-core 2.5 GHz Snapdragon system 801 and 2 GB of RAM. Sony Xperia Z2 has the same layout clocked lower clock (2.3 GHz), but cooperating for it with 3 GB of RAM. For HTC One (M8) we have the weakest set of 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 and 2 GB of RAM (in Asia Snapdragon will be clocked at 2.5 GHz).
About the performance described smartphones wrote here .memory
Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One (M8) is available in two versions: 16 GB and 32 GB. Sony Xperia Z2 has only one option: 16 GB. All devices have a microSD memory card slot allows you to expand the memory up to 128 GB.
CameraSamsung Galaxy S5 offers 16 megapixel camera that uses technology Isocell (matrix 1/2.6 inch) and very fast AF system (up to 0.3 sec.) mode and an increased dynamic range (HDR). The user may also take advantage of the selective focus (lets you sharpen the selected items the scene, while blurring the background) and videos in 4K resolution and slow-motion mode.

Sony Xperia Z2 has a 20.7-megapixel camera equipped with a matrix RS Exmor CMOS 1/2.3 inch Sony G Lens 27 mm, BIONZ image processor, the ability to record video in 4K resolution (30 frames per second) mode, HDR mode and slow-motion (120 frames / sec).
HTC One (M8) looks on paper against the competitors very poorly because the camera has a matrix of BSI (technology Ultrapixel diagonal 1/3 inch) with a resolution of just 4.1 megapixels. Remember, however, that the number of pixels is not everything, and carried out by the former flagship of the Taiwanese company’s pictures are really good.
M8 disappoint those who have 4K TVs because it allows you to record video at a resolution of “only” Full HD (four times lower than competitors). However, it offers in return: – second camera is responsible for the registration of depth, so that after the shooting, we have the opportunity to sharpen its selected item (which is important, it is not done programmatically, or via the “submit” multiple photos)
– something for fans selfie, that is the best of the three front camera (a matrix 5 MP).
As you can see photographic opportunities M8 present here the least. It would look different if the predecessor offer optical image stabilization ( Galaxy S5 and Z2 Xperia did not have). Unfortunately, this is not …
Power
Samsung Galaxy S5 has a battery capacity of 2,800 mAh, allowing for 21 hours of talk time and Ultra Power Saving mode (switches the display to black and white, while excluding any secondary functions minimizing the power consumption of the battery), through which smartphone should work even 24 hours even if the battery is charged at only 10%.
Sony Z2 Xperia has a battery capacity of 3200 mAh, which allows for 19 hours of talk time (on 3G), but you can not replace it yourself.
Sony Xperia Z2
HTC One (M8) offers a battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh (unfortunately also you can not replace it yourself) allowing for 20 hours of talk time (on 3G). Interestingly, HTC has applied a similar solution for Samsung – Extreme Power Saving. Unlike the Galaxy S5 M8 users can expect up to 30 hours of its operation if the battery is charged at 10%.
PriceAs for the price, Rather, it will not have any impact on the choice. The difference between the described smartphone should in fact oscillate around 200 – 300 zł.
Other interesting featuresSamsung Galaxy S5 offers a scanner Fingerprint (in the Home button), heart rate monitor, and a new application S Health 3.0 maid for a comprehensive analysis of individual physical activity. Also has an interesting technology Download Booster accelerates data transfer through the simultaneous use of Wi-Fi and LTE.
Sony Xperia Z2 does not offer a similarly interesting solutions for the health conscious. It has for a system that, along with headphones MDR NC31EM promises a significant reduction of ambient noise. HTC One (M8) offers placed on the front speakers BoomSound, which in comparison to its predecessor benefit of the larger chambers and redesigned amplifier .specification comparison
